The Articles of the Constitution
Article 1- Legislative Branch
This Article states that the Legislative power resides within Congress. It also says that Congress consists of a House of Representatives, and a Senate. Lastly, this article also declares the powers given to Congress and its two Houses.
Article 2- Executive Branch
States that all executive power remains wiht the President, Vice President, and the Cabinet. Also describes the process of electing President and Vice President, and what power these two officials have.
Article 3- Judicial Branch
States that judicial power lies with the Supreme Court, and also says where this power shall be extended to. This Article also describes the power of the Supreme court over court cases.
Article 4- State Rights
This article states the rights of States, and their citixens. This article also shows what the United States has guareented each individual state.
Article 5- Amendment Process
This Article states the process of making any Amendments to the Constitution.
Article 6- Supremacy Clause
This Article contains the "supremacy clause," which establishes that the Constitution, laws passed by Congress, and treaties of the United States "shall be supreme Law of the Land." This clause also recognizes the Constitution as superior to the laws of an individual state.
Article 7- Ratification
This Article addresses ratification and declares that the Constitution would take effect after it was ratified by nine out of thirteen states.
