The Bill of Rights
Amendment 1
This amendment protects the freedom of speech, religion, and the press. It also gives the right to assemble and petition the government.
Amendment 2
This amendment protects the right to bear arms.
Amendment 3
This amendment prohibits the forced quatering of soldiers during peacetime.
Amendment 4
This amendment gives people the right to not have unreasonable searches in homes, unless if there is a warrant.
Amendment 5
This amendment states that no person shall be held to answer for an infamous crime, unless the Grand Jury says so.
Amendment 6
This amendment gives people the right to have a speedy and public trial, by a fair Jury.
Amendment 7
This amendment states the rights of civil cases, and that something not tried by one jury, must not be re-examined by any other court.
Amendment 8
This amendment states that high bails, or high fines, shall not be given, nor harsh and cruel punishment.
Amendment 9
This amendment states that rights retained by the people should not be interpreted to deny,or to seem of little worth.
Amendment 10
This amendment states that powers not given to the U.S. by the Consititution are reserved to States and their people.
